Modern Love

Updated: Jun 24

Sometimes we get so confused and overwhelmed that we forget to learn how to love ourselves. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it's easy to be harsh on ourselves and let negative thoughts dominate our minds. However, we benefit from taking a step back sometimes and observing the negative thoughts we have about ourselves. This allows us to challenge these thoughts and begin the journey towards self-love and self-acceptance.

One of the most important aspects of modeling is being confident in yourself. Confidence wasn’t something I was born with; it was something I had to learn and develop over time.

My journey began when I participated in and won Next Top Model. This experience, coupled with the fame that followed and the opportunity to meet numerous celebrities, taught me valuable lessons about confidence and self-assurance in the modelling and fashion industry.

I learned how to be confident in myself first, and that newfound confidence is what enabled me to book so many campaigns, commercials, editorials, covers, and agencies around the world.

Becoming a mum was a big change in my life. These roles require continuous learning, development, and nurturing the best version of yourself. By observing myself and others, I learned valuable lessons about personal growth and self-improvement.

A powerful exercise I found helpful is to imagine that others are you and you are them. This mental shift creates an understanding in your mind about how to treat others the way you want to be treated. By empathizing with others, you not only foster better relationships but also build a stronger sense of confidence in yourself. This practice was a turning point for me, as it helped me realize the importance of compassion and empathy in my journey toward self-confidence.

Seeing the fear, anxiety, worry, and doubt in myself and recognizing how these emotions affected not only my life but also the lives of those around me made me stop and take a step back. I understood that these negative emotions were holding me back and impacting my relationships. By acknowledging this, I decided to let go of all my anxieties and focus on being present in the moment. This shift in perspective allowed me to live more fully and appreciate the here and now.

In conclusion, the path to self-confidence and success in various roles in life is a journey of continuous learning and self-discovery. By taking the time to observe and challenge our negative thoughts, practicing empathy, and being present in the moment, we can cultivate the best version of ourselves. This journey isn’t always easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding and transformative.
